What is TPU?

TPU is a flexible, rubber-like thermoplastic that excels in applications requiring elasticity, shock absorption, and abrasion resistance. It can be stretched and bent repeatedly without cracking and offers excellent vibration dampening properties.

TPU prints like plastic but behaves like rubber: bend it, stretch it, drop it from a desk, and it bounces back. We use it for phone-case bumpers, vibration dampeners, custom watch straps, replacement gaskets, and grip surfaces. Available in clear, black, and a handful of bright colours. Shore A hardness around 95A — flexible enough for hinges, firm enough to hold its shape on the build plate.

From our workshop

TPU prints slowly — expect about half the speed of PLA — and supports are nearly impossible to remove cleanly. For best results, design parts with self-supporting overhangs or use sacrificial PLA breakaway supports (we'll handle that automatically if your model needs them). If you need food contact, ask first — only certain grades qualify.
