PLA is the most popular 3D printing material and the ideal starting point for most projects. It is plant-based, biodegradable, and produces excellent surface detail with minimal warping. Best suited for prototypes, display pieces, and parts that will not be exposed to heat or heavy loads.
PLA is the workhorse of consumer 3D printing and the default choice for most Singapore makerspaces, hobbyists, and product designers. Made from plant starch (corn or sugarcane), it prints at low temperatures with minimal warping and produces clean surface detail. We stock PLA in over 15 colours and run it daily on our Bambu Studio X1C printers — first-time orders typically slice and quote in under 30 seconds.

Key properties
From our workshop
PLA softens around 60 °C — fine for indoor desk objects, but anything left in a car or under direct Singapore sun will sag. If your part needs to survive heat or weather, ask for PETG (functional) or ASA (outdoor) instead. We'll flag this on the quote if your application sounds heat-exposed.
